Memory of Omnium Racing Club meeting with Zarkava

22 October 2015

Zarak stellar performance on his first time out bring us back the memory of Omnium Racing Club meeting with Zarkava.

The new shining star of Zarkava

Zarak hails from two incredible champions, being by the top-stallion Dubawi out of the legendary Zarkava, the famous green silk and red shoulders pads flag-bearer, unbeaten in seven starts and winner of the Groups 1 Prix Marcel Boussac, Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, Diane,Vermeille and Arc de Triomphe (Gr1s). Zarkava hails from a purple-blooded family of His Highness Aga Khan, the one of Petite Etoile.

Fourth product of Zarkava and first to have taken part in competition, Zarak left a stellar visual impression when running the Prix de Saint Désir (F) on Thursday 22 October 2015. He succeeded to Make Believe in the roll of honour of this race. « Seen at the back, Zarak did not have a good course, running freely on the outside. Entering the home straight, he had lots of ground to make up (…) but once settled on the outer, the stunning son of Dubawi jumped to the lead in three lengths. He showed a beautiful turn of foot, correcting himself once before, and easily outpowering the opponents such as Qatar Dream, the first produce of Baïne. (…) Zarak has showed promises this Thursday. Christophe Soumillon showed a big smile when returning to the winners enclosure. Trainer Alain de Royer-Dupré was also very pleased : « We saw what we wanted to see. Christophe Soumillon felt the same blowing turn of foot as with his dam. The colt showed a lot of class. It is exactly what we wanted to see. He was a bit far off when entering the home straight and as soon as he was asked to quicken, he showed he was better than the others in only a few strides. We will now carefully prepare his career to come » » Extract from daily paper Jour de Galop dated Thursday 22nd October 2015.
