New Longchamp : the first stone was layed

15 March 2016

A day after the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on the 19th March 2015, the building of the New Longchamp began. On Monday 14 March 2016, Edouard de Rothschild (France Galop President), Dominique Perrault (the architect of the project) and Bernard Mounier (Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France President) had the privilege of laying, together, the first stone of the New Longchamp. Jockey Stéphane Pasquier was also present to immortalize the moment. After adding his signature on the saddlecloth put at the heart of the new fondations he declared : “I look forward to ride again at Longchamp which is the most beautiful track in the world to my mind”.

After five months of demolition, the construction has begun. Bernard Mounier told that the construction site was on schedule.

The objective is to offer a more friendly place and attractive than previously. Beyond horse racing, new services will be proposed in order to attract a new public.
