The legendary Cheltenham Festival has kicked off

The edition 2016 of the world biggest Jump Racing Meeting was launched on Tuesday 15th March. Over the four days of competition, no less than thirteen Groups 1 will be competeted over a total of twenty-eight races for a total prizemoney of £4,1 millions.

Among the runners bred in France and trained across the Channel can be counted the promising DOUVAN (Arkle Chase (Gr.1), Tuesday), VANITEUX (Arkle Chase (Gr.1), Tuesday), VROUM VROUM MAG (OLBG Mares' Hurdle (Gr.1), Tuesday), MIN (Supreme Novices' Hurdle (Gr.1), Tuesday), UN DES SCEAUX (Champion Chase (Gr.1), Wednesday), SIRE DE GRUGY (Champion Chase (Gr.1), Wednesday), SPRINTER SACRE (Champion Chase (Gr.1), Wednesday), VAUTOUR (several entries), BRISTOL DE MAI (Golden Miller Novices' Chase (Gr.1), Thursday), AUX PTITS SOINS (World Hurdle (Gr.1), Thursday) and DJAKADAM (Gold Cup (Gr.1), Friday).

Offering an unforgateble spectable, the Cheltenham Festival is a much looked-after event every year, covered by no less than 800 international journalists. The event generates important economic benefits on the local economy (£100 millions) and on the racing market, as £150 millions are placed in betting.
