Victories galore for ARQANA Racing Club’s trainers!

07 June 2013

While the flat race season is in full swing, ARQANA Racing Club's trainers keep on being on top with their ARQANA graduates.

Two  Christophe Ferland's charges who were bought at the August Yearling Sale gave recently an insight into their ability : Chalnetta scored in the Listed Derby du Midi on Saturday 25 May at Bordeaux while Gloomy Sunday caused a big impression overseas when landing the Gr.3 Henry II Stakes on Thursday 30 May at Sandown. Respectively consigned by Haras des Granges and Haras d'Etreham, Chalnetta was knocked down for €30,000 to Michel Roussel (2011) whereas Gloomy Sunday found a buyer in Simon Springer for €32,000 (2010).

In the care of Francis-Henri Graffard, Pearl Flute defeated its eldest opponents in the Gr.3 Prix du Palais-Royal at Longchamp on June 1st, adding likewise a second Group win to his tally. He made €42,000 at the 2011 October Yearling Sale when bought by David Redvers (consigned by Haras de la Louvière).

Finally, Jean-Claude Rouget's charge Morandi, a Group 1 winner at 2, ran a commandable 2nd place in the Gr.1 Prix du Jockey Club at Longchamp last Sunday. Consigned by Haras des Capucines at the 2011 August Yearling Sale, the leader of the 2yo generation was snapped up by his trainer for Daniel-Yves Trèves.
